Suadela is spun from 100% superwash merino dyed by Tamara of Spincerely Yours. The yarn is soft and lofty. It's 2 plied. The color of this yarn consists of light green, white, red, & pink. This yarn will be great for shawl, hats, socks or mittens. Suadela is the Greek goddess of persuasion. She is an attendant of the goddess of love. She would be great for anyone who would like to be better at the art of persuasion. Perhaps she can persuade you to invite her to your home?

Ambition

Here's my third shipment from Black Bunny Fibers Club (Team B). It's a blend of 50% alpaca and 50% superfine merino. Carol has started a 3rd team of BBF. I think Carol mentioned on Ravelry that there're some spots left. Hurry over or email her.

I've finished uploading pictures of all my Pigeon Roof rovings to its' own set on Flickr. I still have to watermark pictures of Crabapple. Hopefully, I'll be able to do that sometime today. I'm loving ScribeFire. It's a Firefox add-on and I can blog without logging into Blogger.

One Picture Only

I was able to capture one picture of Bioluminescence that is true to colors. I'll try again tomorrow. Or use the tungsten white balance tonight.

The low twist single that I spun is called Crabapple (100% merino). It's not lace/fingering weight like I thought. It's actually thick and thin. I'll post the specs after I've upload the images to Flickr. Here's a peek.

Bioluminescence

I'm not having any luck with Bioluminescence. The blues are too pale. Below is a picture of the roving.

Here's a picture of a bobbin (about 2 ounces) full of the gorgeous Peruvian Merino. Iris is dyed by Carol of Black Bunny Fibers (Team B Fiber Club).

Here's a swatch for Tempest. I'm using superwash merino sock yarn from Fearless Fibers. The darker yarn is called Chocolate Pink Cherry (will be the main color) & the other is Infatuation (the coordinating color). M1 helped in choosing the colors.

I have 3 pictureless WIPs. They are a poncho for M1, a sweater for M2 and Lizard Ridge (project while waiting for swim lesson to end) for the sofa. I'll try and take pictures soon.

Iris - Black Bunny Fibers Club, Team B

This is the first installment of roving from Black Bunny Fibers Club (Team B). BBF club is unique in the sense that all members will receive the same fiber but Carol will dye up different colorways for each individual member based on the answers to our questionnaire.

This installment's fiber is 100% Peruvian Merino. I split the roving into 4 lengthwise. This will normally spin up fingering/sport weight yarn for me but this roving has a mind of its own. It wants to be lace yarn. It may even be light fingering yarn. It's really easy to spin. I'll try and take picture of the bobbin this weekend.

Sneak Peek - Athelas

Athelas is spun from superwash merino batt blended with angelina/sparkles/glitz and sari silk. This batt was blended by Josette of Enchanted Knoll Farm. It was triple carded and the yarn is wonderfully soft. The angelina/sparkles/glitz and sari silk is not itchy nor scratchy.

A note about Chai: when you zoom/enlarge the pictures on Etsy, you can see all the sari silk and glitz/angelina sticking about and you may think that this yarn is scratchy/itchy but it's not. I think it's because the batt was triple carded. The yarn is very, very soft.

Busy, busy......

I was busy researching to buy another camera that is smaller than the one I've been using. I bought an Olympus Stylus 820. I've tested it out and have come to the conclusion that pictures taken with the Stylus 820 are softer around the edge and it's not as crisp as my clunker Olympus C-740.

I finished spinning Woodstock '99, dyed by Wiley of Sakina Needles Fiber Arts and on the bobbins is Coral Bells, dyed by Carol of Black Bunny Fibers. Woodstock is 100% superwash merino. Coral Bells is a blend of Leicester, Merino and Mohair. Despite the mohair it doesn't feel scratchy or itchy. Enjoy.

Emerald Forest & Christmas Candies Knitted Up

Ann Shayne of Mason-Dixon Knitting posted pictures of scarves knitted from the above yarn. I'm surprised at how the color changes. I haven't knitted with my own handspun but I do have this skein save up to knit my kids the Dream Swatch.

Carol, thank you for posting pictures of the handspun on your blog. I think we 'discovered' each other at around the same time. I loved spinning with the BFL and it has great colors. I still have 'Coral Bells' to work with.

I'm almost finish spinning 'Passion'. Then I'll start plying all the singles that I've spun. Hopefully, I'll be able to add them to Etsy before the week is over.

Delilah & Party Dress 2

I have finished plying Delilah (75% superwash merino & 25% nylon, wpi aprrox: 14-15 & about 273 yards) & Party Dress 2 (100% superwash corriedale, wpi approx: 16-18 and about 310 yards). I planned to take pictures of the yarn today but it's dark and gloomy here in Central Ohio. I guess I'll go ahead and set the twist and wait for a brighter day. I don't want to take pictures of the yarn with my Ott light on as it brightens up the yarn quite a bit.

On the bobbin right now is the second half of Polka Dots (Blueface Leicester) roving from Black Bunny Fibers.

Bouquet of Fiber

I received a bouquet of fiber on Monday. It's 100% BFL. The roving is dyed by Carol of Black Bunny Fibers. Here's a couple of pictures of the roving.

This bouquet of fiber is named Polka Dots. It is being spun up right now. I finished spinning a blend of superwash Merino/Tencel and the yarn is resting at the moment. The merino/tencel is from Spinning Bunny and it's named Blueberry Patch.

Sleepy Hollow is dry now. Hopefully it will be added to Etsy this evening. I'll write more about it when I upload it. I think it deserve its own spot.
