Long time no post

I have been re-learning my camera skills. After M2 took a picture of me & M1, she passed the Olympus Stylus 820 and it slipped right out of my palm (caught the cord & not the camera) and kissed the driveway. Bye Bye Stylus. Now I'm back to using the C740UZ. This camera takes sharper images but I'm having problems with some colors. And now this camera is having some hiccups too. Anyway, I've been researching for another camera and just ordered it yesterday. When it arrives, I'll be learning again.

I've been remembering my college coursework to see whether there are any books/subjects that I want to re-read/refresh. I've come up with The Road not Taken and a picture of a frowning clown adrift in open waters without oars (plus Eastern  & Greek philosophy). I had to write paper on the above. I wrote about them while I was studying for my Western Australia Tertiary Entrance Exam. I don't remember having to write tough materials here at OSU.

I'm going to look through several piles/stacks of books on varies subjects - computers/website/Joomla, Photography, Knitting, Beading and the regular fiction/non-fiction books. I'll be adding more materials from Carols' book review and Tamara's too. My to-do list grows and gets re-listed too. Back to photographing yarns/spinning threads. See you later, Alligator.

Thank you

Thank you for taking part in the sale and also for the Birthday wishes.  Here's a picture of the cake.

The cake is from a chinese bakery. It's a light, moist and fluffy. It's has strawberry in between layers.  Hubby was singing that it's my last 3rd decade as my birthday song. I told him to go ahead and add another candle. I don't mind as it's just numbers to me. We went to the Franklin Park Conservatory yesterday. Looks like the kids are having a meeting.

I made/cook all of the below today. Yummy.

Aloo Gobi

Peanut butter & chocolate chip scones

Granola

I have 3 superwash handspun already photographed & uploaded to my photostream. I'll preview them tomorrow. I still have 3 BFL handspun and 4 Falkland handspun to be photographed.

Hmm....

This morning I had webcam chat via Skype with my parents and siblings in Malaysia. My mum asked my kids what day is today. Both of them went quite. Mum told them that it's my birthday. My kids remember that today is the start of the Friends of the Library Book Sale but not my birthday. My brother's birthday is on the 19th.

Just got a call from hubby and kids that they bought the birthday cake and chinese pork bun for lunch. I'm not looking for material things as they pass. Hugs and kisses will be remembered forever.

I found this on my laptop this morning. It's a present from M1. Kids at her school were selling them & the proceed goes to charity. M1 bought 3 with money from her piggy bank. She's one of my glue holding me together.

Reminder

Just a reminder that the Chinese New Year sale is still going on. It's 10% discount on all handspun except for those in clearance. I have a lot on my mind lately as my husband's department has to reduce the employees another 350. I don't even remember how many rounds of cuts he has been through. I heard that this round of cuts will include the COs. Please send good vibes. I've added Flutterby and Athena a couple of days ago. I'll be in & out of blogland as I'll be spinning to de-stress and updating my resume as a backup. Have a nice weekend.
