We're back

We went to Asheville, Atlanta & Chattanooga for break. I took a lot of photos. I have to go through them before posting some here. Hubby was washing the grill for me in the yard and somehow when he turned the faucet, it caused the indoor pipe to burst. Luckily I was in the unfinished basement doing laundry, saw it happened and ran to ask him to stop. The plumber will be in later today. M2's glasses' ready and we'll pick it up today.

Yarn-wise - I have some that I have to set the twist and one that's ready to be added to Etsy. I'm not sure how often I'll be adding new yarn as I have to finish the shawl for the school auction which is on April 17. Wish me luck. Thank you for your patience.

Long day

I left to pick the kids up for an eye appointment @ 2pm and did not get home till 6pm. I dropped them off at home and went out to the store to get some ingredients for tonight's dinner. M2 has lazy eye on her right and needs glasses. M1 has this on Tuesday so she has rehearsal on Monday. M1 has a dental appointment on Saturday too.

M1 passed her karate belt test. She has blue belt now. For her next test (in about 6-12 months), she'll have to break boards. I told her that and she turned around and said you'll have to help me practice. Yeah, right!! M2 will have her karate belt test this coming Monday/Wednesday. I just realized that the last day of school is on 19 and not 20.

My 13 year old washer kaput last Friday and it has been a week already. M1's clothes for the orchestra is in the laundry basket. Looks like this weekend, I'll be visiting the laundromat. Talk later.

Just finished

Just finished spinning the above. It's a blend of 50/50 optim/soy. Super soft and silky. I finished plying the threads. There are some pictures of them on my photostream. Next up is a custom spin of this and also previewing the new handspun. Marianne emailed me about the Blue Grey Kitty with a Rainbow Scarf. Go take a look. It's a very pretty kitty with a dashing scarf. Love of the colors of the scarf shows with the grey.

Catch up later. Have a great weekend.

Roasted Red Chili Peppers

Added Roasted Red Chili Peppers to the store. It's spun from 100% superwash merino batt. The colors in this yarn reminds me of roasted red chili peppers and thus the name. It has cayenne red, burnt orange, charred brown, black, gray and natural/ecru.

I tried the new camera and realized that the media card that comes with it doesn't store that many images. Have to go buy another card and as for watermarking  - if I set the image size to be the same as my Stylus 820, I don't have to make changes to my Photoshop macro. See ya.

Ilmatar 2 & catching up

Just added Ilmatar 2 to the store. The yarn is spun from 100% superwash merino. And Ilmatar is a Finnish creation goddess; a goddess to call upon for new beginnings. The purples and greens in this roving are fresh and pure and spinning with her would be a great way to start your day (as explained by Tamara of Spincerely Yours). The color of this yarn consists of lime/chartreuse/olive green and purple/violet/lavender.

Ilmatar 2 - Handspun Superwash Merino

Approx. 322 yds or 294m
Approx. 3.9 oz or 112g

WPI: Approx. 16-17
Gauge: Approx. 5.75-6.5 sts per inch
Suggested Needle Size:US 3-5
Weight: Sport

I received my new camera today and I'll be getting to know it (just realized that I may have to redo the auto-watermarking). I'll be in and out again as usual as M1 has karate belt test in 9 days and I have to help her with the terms. Besides the test, we have a couple of regular check-up appointments. I did finish plying Black Magic Woman and Iridescence in lace weight. Pictures soon.
